I started dancing at the age of five under the direction of Debra Coe of DebCo Dance Studio in Daytona Beach, learning ballet and tap. This sparked for me a love and passion for the arts that I still carry with me today.
As a teen to young adult, I attended two local studios where I studied ballet (classical, contemporary, and pointe), tap, jazz, lyrical, and competed with my high school dance team. I went on to dance with several local nonprofit companies in styles including pointe, lyrical, jazz, musical theater, and belly dance.
During this time into my mid-twenties, I spent five seasons studying the Horton technique modern dance among other dance styles with Daytona State College Dance Theatre, through which I also earned a scholarship. I also had the opportunity to attend many dance intensives, workshops, and masterclasses throughout that time in various styles of dance.
After having my first child, I briefly taught private lessons at my home. Taking a few years hiatus, I returned to the art to share my passion through teaching for the past 4 years with studio 13, two of those years also teaching at the Global Montessori School of Ormond Beach as part of their extracurricular program. I am excited to continue to share and grow with Studio B. As a teacher, I have recognized the importance of the young dancers’ experience and the effect it will have on their future whether it be in the dance field or not, and I hope to inspire many future dancers to come.
